Photos of Streamlight Scorpion's runtime, shot every 5 minutes, @ 20 ft., with fresh set of Duracell Ultra 123 Lithium batteries.

That's a great series of photos!
Can you do that for any other flashlights?
You could but two beams next to each other to show how they compare. It maybe easier to have them shining onto a closer surface so the beams are smaller...

Thanks Size15s!

I'll try to do time-lapse photo shoot of other flashlights to show their battery run-time. My intention in shooting these photos is to show how long flashlight will give a practically usable beam of light with fresh batteries.

I'll shorten the distance with other shots, but I'm still not sure which distance is appropriate to show time of flashlights usable beam of light with regards to its category or advertized use.

Side-by-side run-time comparison photo of flashlights may not be neccessary, but I'll try to do it too, because every photo will be marked with date and time photo was taken to show time of flashlights optimum shine time and when beam of light began to depreciate until batteries drain out.

Any suggestion how I should match the flashlights for this side-by-side battery run-time comparison photos? Example: Scorpion vs Sure-Fire 6P, UK4AA vs TEC-40 vs Streamlight 4AA.

Yes, those combinations are cool.

I personally would change to new batteries in the Scorpion after about 30-35 minutes. I feel that "useable" light runs out around 40-45 minutes. It's pushing it to say that the runtime is a full 60 minutes (IMHO).

BTW, I was very surprised to find that the SureFire N2 type Lamp Module really did have a fully 60 minutes burntime. Infact, I only noticed yellowing after 45 minutes. It did die very quickly after about 70 minutes though!

One of the reasons why I think photos of the beams would be a good idea is because flaws in the beam become more evident as the flashlight runs out of juice...

The single series of photos for one flashlight are great for comparing change over time. I'm just worried that different series may come out differently on film.
How about using a flashlight as a control - a benchmark. Which one? How about the Scorpion? This would be another reason for shortening the distance to the wall so that both beams can be identified...
