Wow, too bad they didn't do the bike test against the CBR 1054RR, it would have been cool to see that, but very impressive. Too bad we'll probably never see one on this side of the pond.

It would have beat any bike, simply because the problem isn't speed, it's tire contact patch and thus traction, and none of the sport bikes/race bikes has enough contact patch to keep up in the corners. The 600 had enouhg oomph to beat it off the line, but once you get to the twisties, the car has the advantage.

Anyway, there is only one car on 4 wheels that is faster. It is called the Caterham R 500/Tiger ( http://www.stevecarter.com/R500/R500main.htm ) And, that is street legal(the tiger). There is an excellent video on that car that Top Gear did also. One of the coolest things is that it has 2 1200cc motorcycle engines to power it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/aaa.gif. That means that you have 2 gear shifts that you can shift at once or at seperate times.(They said it's surprisingly easy to drive though. It looks cool.) Plus, it holds the 0-60 MPH world record at 2.3 seconds. The Atom is a bit slower at 2.9 seconds.
