Few Surefire questions

1) On the A2 aviator that is comming out in yellow/green will yellow be the color of the bulb while LEDs will be green? Or vice versa?

2) Is there a drop in LED module available for E2D that would still maintain the defensive capibilities of the original assembly?

1: It's my understanding that the yellow/green is the color of the LEDs and the incandescent is the same lamp assembly that is used in all A2s.

2: I don't think so, but I think Chop could mod one for you.

What about the A2 or L2 "Porcupine" Asia-only exclusives? E2D-type bezel, HA3 only.

I've done quite a few E2D mods, but they are not "drop in." In fact, the mod is not reversible, although that may not be a big deal. Once you see the modded E2e, you may never go back to incand. I could mod the head by boring the head out to accept a modified McR20 reflector and chasing the threads to accommodate an Aleph light engine.

Of course, for a bit more than the price of having the head modded and getting the light engine, you could just get a complete Aleph II head with LE and just swap heads as you desire.
