I folks, I've messed around with a 2c which fits two 18650 cells
(2400mah) perfectly (using space in the tailcap.
I have one config with the two cells in parallel direct driving a poor
lux3 at 1.6A average and it lasts about 3 hours.

Another setup I have the two cells in series (with a protection
circuit of course) driving a potted carley 928. It runs close
to 2 hours and approaches 200 lumens.

Both have charging circuits built in - with a little jack opposite
of the switch /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif And both have UCL's and PMR's.

NOW... I'm considering getting a 6C light and I have calculated that
it can take exactly 5 18650 cells. In parallel it acts as one BIG
12,000mah li-ion cell or in series a 20v cell at 2,400mah.

Question is this... what light should I drive this light (weapon)?
Is there such a bulb that will run at 18.5v - 21v ?

Or should I drive a single lux3 that will run for 7.5 hours at
1.6A average?

Or some kind of multi luxeon setup...

Just brainstorming here /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You could have three LuxV's in series and DD. The voltage is above the specifications for input to a Fatman regulator so DD would be about it.

five 18650 cells in parallel can drive a lux V with a fatman
can run that lux V for 6 hours

or it can DD three Lux III's for about 2.5 hours producting over 300
lumens.

another advantage with the li-ions is it's low shelf discharger rate.
I have a 2c with two 18650s always in my car. I measured the cells
and they are still at 4.18v - after 2 months and intermittent use.

Anyone interested in a custom built light/baton-weapon?
