Hi,

I searched very intensively for a small keychain light, and a larger one. Since I want to use standard (=AA or AAA) rechargeable batteries I narrowed my choice down to

-) sonic keychain task light
-) Infinity ultra
-) GMC reactor
-) LX 3.0

All of them but the LX 3.0 have a step-up converter, but how much does the light go back when the batteries fade? Since I want to use HiMHs it is important for me that the torch works fine with lower voltages.

How does the regulation in the LX3.0 work? Is it regulated or "resistored"?

Do you have any experience with this issue? Or are there any other manufactorers that solve this problem better than CMG?
(No, shurefire is too expensive for me..)

Greets,

jr luxeon sounds interesting. How safe is the clicky-button? Can it be switched on by accident when having it in the backpack?

But now - I want to have a 3W Version *g*

The reactor and the LX3 are not sized for keychain carry (ie. on your keyring, and in your pocket). I can vouch for the CMG/Gerber Infinity Ultra. Built like a tank and long runtime. The Sonic is smaller cuz it uses a AAA batt. I personally don't like it shape.
