Opinions: 4 \"C\" + BB750 + LuxV?

Has anyone tried this combo? I'm considering taking a Mag 3D/4C conversion and installing a BB750 and LuxV (with a "T" Vf).

I'm not interested in extremely long runtimes, but will the "C" alkalines handle the strain, even for a little while?

Yes, they will.

Output voltage 6.5 V
Output current 0.75 A
Output wattage 4.875 W

Input voltage (4-cell) 6 V
Converter efficiency 0.85
Input current (4-cell) 0.955882353 A

Even if the voltage drops to 5V, it will draw 1.2A, which is still within the reach of C-cell alkalines. Duracell's datasheets indicate that at 1.5A, you're looking at over an hour of good, useable light in regulation. Possibly more, maybe 90 minutes and then some.

Besides, you can always switch to NiMH later and get extreme runtime.

Just curious- how would it work with 3D's?
