Probably the LuxIII Peak mod using one AAA rechargeable, complete with charger, by CPFer andrewwynn. That's if he ever gets it together and actually delivers...

A very strange dark place
Lambda MicroIlluminator (Brinkmann AAA with a R3J Luxeon driven at 155mA)

Peak is supposed to be coming out with a single AAA or AA Luxeon light this spring. Meanwhile, I will just observe /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/popcorn.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleye11.gif

I think andrew's nano uses an AAA-sized LiON battery... that's kinda sorta cheating though I'm sure he could come up with something very bright that would only run for 5 minutes on an AAA.

Judging from my 400 mA LED_ASAP-modded ARC, I'd have to think his 800 mA modded ARC would be quite bright.

TNC Ncell w/AAA pack has features when combine gives huge advantages over other AAA luxeon lights.

1. a real custom turned reflector with sprayed on reflective coating. combined with UCL lens
2. ARCmania's super efficient converter. mated with probably an R2H luxeon.
3. flawless machining with a very solid design, trapping pill for a dead reliable switch.
4. Hard anodize option
6. different tail pack options
7. great form factor
8. will support li-ion and std AAA

Nuwai .5W 2AAA is bright, long running, relatively inexpensive, and still pretty compact. Mine starts out at about 160 cd on fresh alkalines with lots of good spill.

It's also incredibly expensive. Unbelievably so.

Ahh, but worth it if you can find one. I'm still waiting to get my AAA tailpack but love the light even with the N cell.
