We have the keys and the house is mostly empty!

We took a load up today, and did a few more things to make it ours!

The major move comes Friday. Hopefully I'll only be without Internet for a day or two...

Internet is up! See bottom post!

Joe, not sure who your DSL provider is but Verizon gave me like a ten day activation date and in actuality it was only three. Also I called them up and complained and they gave me free dial-up access for a month to hold me over in the meantime. Losing your Internet connection is like a drug fix, you'll do anything to keep it!

Great to hear of your acquisition, PBJS. I hope the move is smooth and the internet is your only glitch. Good luck, good Buddy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif

Joe, please explain more. You can't get a temporary internet account with another provider while waiting for DSL? Doesn't netzero still have a free account although time restricted?

I will be back on the "Work" 'puter now and again if nothing else.

I'm a relative newbie to the vagaries of ISPs... I am set in my way to use the ones I've been using...

I'm going to call the Phone Co-Op that is going to do our DSL and see if they have a dialup for now.

I may try other ISPs but have to have access to get access...

Thanks for the congrats. Moving of the big stuff is a done deal. We are here in town now to get another truck/trailer full. May have to do it twice more.

I'll check in whenever I can, if only when I'm here (until THIS house gets sold).

Wish me ISP luck!!!

I now believe that no call fron our new phone number is a local call.

I don't believe I could call across the street.

They gave me a same area code same first three number and IT'S a long distance call!

It may well be early March before I can be here daily again!

When can you last remember dialing a number without the area code???

That's what they told me to do, and it worked!

Apparently East Texas isn't like the rest of the country!

Anyhow, I should be able to check in daily again!

However dial up is too slow to see everything!
