2C Nflex on 2x 18650

just got my 2X Nflex from Sway. Great job building this sweet light.

Since I don't have 2x 150 pilas, but do have lots of 18650's.

if you remove batt spring, 2x 18650 fits right in. you have to remove anodizing to make contact. also I used one 168A with another 18650 to give protection when using in series.

can't wait to build a 5watt version and maybe a tri-lux version too.

Re: 2C Nflex/ SNII on 2x 18650

cy,

I'm happy you like the light /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif the nFlex board does make the light very versatile performer for a minimal expense over a fixed drive level. Guess I use mine in the low setting more than high it's just about right for night adjusted eyes when you don't need a full blast of light.

On to the 2X18650 light 2 cells with protection made into a pack will fit but it takes a little more work. I went a little over board on my first light trying to make room for the pack and had the tail cap turned out, gutted the switch and epoxied a smaller switch back in place. Run time in regulation at the 1000mA drive level 3 hours 45 minutes on 2 LG 18650 2400mA cells, drop the drive down to 700mA for the LuxV and it should run much longer /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Eh' two cells with protection may fit with out doing all that we just need to think smaller /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Note because you should never use Li-ion in series w/o protection. one is a pila 168A combined with 18650.

also opened up pila charger, adjusted one pot controlling charging voltage to 4.19V. don't know if it now terminate charge at 4.2V with bare 18650's.

a pair of 18650 has been charging for awhile. I'll find out if it will terminate charge at 4.2V.
