Input needed

I have some potted 1111's just in with the parts (reflector and UCL's to build a 2d supermag.

WA01111: 6V spec (464.95 lumens), 7.2V push (880 lumens)

With FM 6AA/2d adapter is this a good setup or could I do better in the 2D form factor?

Currently I have 1185s and 1111's potted on hand..

I am thinking its gonna be tough to beat the 1111 in a 2d @ 7.2 at this price point..

FM 6 AA adaptor is for 2 D Maglite and the 1111 is a fantastic addition, but you need a borofloat lens as the intensity of the 1111 will cook a halo in the center of the UCL.
You probably have to open up the rear of the Carley reflector so the bulb carrier don't jam into that small hole.
Beam adjustment is made with the washers that came with your reflector.

My carrier slid right in to the bottom with no mods...

Why is everyone saying it needs opened up?

Perhaps the newer mags are a bit smaller?
