avast a/v supports non-OE email clients?

i saw that avg only supports outlook express; does avast support other applications for POP email like Opera, for instance? thanks.

Yes it does. It works great with Thunderbird too. The new v. of Avast has an automatic scanning of email without any setup on windows xp. The new v. also has a web shield for http scanning, network shield, mail provider, resident, Outlook scanner, P2P shield and Instant Messaging scanner.

thanks, now i'll go get it and install. norton expired, and 2005 version did not rate well (plus this is an old P3, will choke w/ norton 05)
