I want a EL Tristar Phazer at some point (not now) and I wanted suggestions on other lights similar to it for under 200.00. I will check the BST-lights area for the TSP when the time is right, but in case I don't find any, I would like alternate possibilities.

I have a TRi-Star. It is a VERY good light.

I have seen "knock-offs" through Cabelas (not 3/3 watt, but two) and a 3/three watt from online people.

None are as inexpensive as the original.

I've got a TSP and I'd say when it is on it commands attention. It has a very bright beam that floods an area with light. I haven't got another light that is comparable to the TSP.

Modamag and b2eze have what you are looking for to make your own for under 100 that are better than a tsp in output.

I just built a 3c mag with 4 SX1K stars, 20mm reflectors, B2eze 4 star sink, and it was very good.

Then today, I swapped out the SX1K's for 4 TWOJ's and ......
WOW!!!
3-4 amps with 280-350 lumens gushing out the business end of my little 3c cell magglight. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
My mag85 halogen still beats it, but not too badly now.

I also want a TSP. I was pretty disappointed to find out they are no longer sold
