Just took a look at the site (80 mA LED page), and saw that that 80 mA was the maximum peak current, with 20 mA as the maximum continuous current. Also, the light output ratings were given at 80 mA, so you won't get the amount of light shown (either less due to duty cycle, or less due to running at continuous rated current).
My personal prejudices: I avoid anyone who tries to "skate" on the specs, and anyone who doesn't bother to check their pages with non-Microsoft browsers (a lot of stuff overlaps under Netscape).
