Murphy\'s Law

This weekend I was working on a client's device that went GZZZZMMMMZZZ-KAPOW! followed by that familiar smell. Opened it up and found that two power transistors in the power supply had blown out. I was hoping to get a part number off of the blown devices, but as Murphy would have it, both transistors had a hole blown right through the area where the part number used to be.

Not the worst one but I had a pen and two backups all fail right before an exam, I then asked a friend for his spare and forgot it two minutes later in the library.

Had almost finished installing a new server. Had been using an ipod to copy files from some standalone machines to the new server. Was on the LAST "transfer". Plugged the ipod into the server. The usb shorted out somehow. Destroyed (smoke!) the server's motherboard. Entire network is now down. Client not happy.
