Good driver or regulator for 4 Luxeon 3 watts ?

Anyone know a good driver or regulator that will fit somewhere in a 4 D cell Maglight and power 4 luxeon 3 watters running in parallel? So I would like them to each get about 900Ma or 1 amp.

Why parallel? in series the lights will work nicer. If you are using 4D.. that's 6V.. i think you can run series luxes from a fatman driver, but maybe not 4 of them.. you could do it with 2 parallel fatman drivers but that's pricy... a lot of people use 4AA->D converters to get a base voltage higher than the emitters Vf and then you can use the likes of the nFlex driver for 8-levels of brightness with digital control.

Hmm...I am not an EE person, but running in parallel wouldn't it mean the driver had to put out 900max4 or even 4A of current? If that 4A of current had to be some what regulated, does it imply the possible 4A+ current drawn from the battery source?

I do know with enough cells giving enough voltage, 4 lux III in series(individually 1A driven), should be totally possible(just as Andrew said) with nflex.

The fatman isn't rated for 4x Luxeon III.

I've been working on a project using a fatman & 3x Luxeon IIIs. Here are some of the scenarios:

4x NiMH cells (350mA/700mA) safer than 500/1000, but you'll be cutting it close at the tail end of cell life:
