F/S mint VIP with UX1J, yes this VIP has the current ultimate in 3watt luxeons. Has the usual specks in selector knob and knurling. comes with so17 reflector. $275 shipped usps conus w/tracking, insurance is extra.

shifty, many thanks for catching that. corrected to UX1J

bullz, don't have a meterman yet. but UX1J puts out way more light than other VIP I have.

krahl, photon phantic has so17 reflectors, unless you want to purchase 24 at Future.

UX1J VIP is still available.

you can see the old TWOJ emitter I killed getting it off and the new UX1J star new emitter came off of.

Cy, was it difficult replacing the emitter? could you tell me how you removed it from the thermal epoxy? im thinking of replacing my vip's TWAK(very pink)

No it was not dificult to replace the emitter. just really HURT to kill the emitter. don't know of a way to remove emitter that's been epoxy down with killing it.

When I placed the precious UX1J emitter on VIP. Used AA grease on metal emitter base. Then a tiny drop of super glue on plastic base. capillary action will wick super glue around entire base. Hold down tight for a minute or so and your done.

hopefully emitter can be removed without killing it.

Place razor blade between heatsink base and metal slug of emitter, tap softly w/small hammer/similar...oh yeah, desolder the leads first (duh...). To prevent the wires from getting cut off when razor finally (and sometimes very suddenly) cuts all the way through the AA epoxy base, I actually use a narrow chisel instead of the razor.
