Is The CC Expedition 1200 A Good Light?

Hi Everyone,
I recently got interested in LED flashlights and notice C Crane has the Expedition 1200 for half off.
Is this a good deal and a good light?
Or maybe I should find one with a Luxeon LED in it?
I may order one today if it is.

I picked one of these up last year, and I also bought it at the sale price. I'm surprised that they still have some left. I hardly use mine, but I intended it to be an emergency light anyway.

Is it worth the price? I would say that as far as quality goes, yes. It's a tough and waterproof flashlight, and its light output is high. The LEDs are very white (*not* typical of flashlights that use 5mm LEDs) and appear to have been hand-picked for color.

That being said, there may be better flashlights for the price, depending on what you plan to use it for. With the proliferation of Luxeon flashlights, the kind of beam that you get from the Expedition 1200 is largely obsolete unless you *know* that you won't need any throw. This is strictly a "flood only" light.
