The Energizer Double barrel is quite popular. I think mostly because it allows for series or parallel operation, and has a large headspace which allows for projects efforts.

But the switch action on my 8AA is really poor. There's no tactile feedback, no sense of positive operation. (Yes, I know - you can tell when it's switched on because it gives out a reasonable beam of light.) Is this *cheap* switch common to all the range ?

(Hope Energizer doesn't Legal-action me for saying this.)

The Tac-Lite has a circuit board as part of the switch in the cut-away illustration, @ http://www.sapphirelight.com/taclite.htm and, quote - "The patent pending 'Softouch' activation system is sensitive and quiet. It employs circuit board technology and a self-cleaning computer micro switch."

So what does the circuit board do, what's a "computer micro switch" and can you service it at all ?

The Tac-Lite's shock-absorbing system is described as - "Replaceable high pressure pin lamps have an integral Shock Isolation System ". How does it work, and is that sufficient to isolate the lamp ?

I notice that KT says (in Topic: Official website for ASP? @ http://www.candlepowerforums.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=18&t=000031 ) that there isn't an official ASP site.

Anyone know which site is the most informative for the Tac-Lite: I suppose if there is a good one, it should be cross-posted there too ?
