I'm in dire need of some 5mm LED holders for a project. I've searched high and low for some decent good looking ones. I've seen the ones at radio shack, but those nylon ones look cheap and don't hold the LED securely in place. I've also seen the metal/chrome/plastic ones similar to this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=26207&item=7500772953
and as they do hold the LED in it well, they just don't allow the LED to be invisible. All you see is a big chrome holder that pokes out.

I'm looking for a plastic type holder that will allow the LED to be mostly flush-mounted and held securely in place.

Any help/info is greatly appreciated!!!

those metal ones are NICE, at the RS they are (or were) real chromed metal, but indeed they are not for output , but for pannel mounts.

so this auful black hunk of plastic can be used instead

they are junk arent they :)

cant you just melt them a bit , use some hotglue
if the hole is the exact right size, they clamp in better.

side notes: at theLEDlight.com they have some great 5mm reflectors, i alter them a bit for different things, there is quite a bit of light that is wasted on a 5mm if you want it to all go forward.

That last link is exactly what I"m looking for! They're a little pricey, but they're plastic, they look good, plus I can paint them the same color as my bike so it'll match perfectly!!

Thanks everyone for the help and links. No way I would have found them with this site's help!! I'm usings them for a LED project for my motorcycle... I'll post some pics when I'm done!
