Your four favorite EDC small light\'s.

What are you four favorite light's to carry? this is not
a "this is best for that, best for this" type thread. Just four you carry the most and use.

By giving four pick's i hope to defuse any of the "that won't work for a good EDC light!" stuff.

here's mine:

HDS 60:
just does everything I need in one light. with workmanship
and quality better then anything I have seen.

KL-1/vital Gear FB-1 (1x123):
Big throw, great brightness, and just seem's to work in most and past 20 ft situation's. The HDS or this is always with me.

Jil lite 1.3:
close behind the KL-1/VG. man! I was surprized by this micro light. flood'ish but still throw's like mad.About the size of a stack or 15-20 dimes, but still blow's away my LSH-P.

SF E1e/Vital Gear FB-1:
just a good all around medium incan good in and outdoor's tiny and more usful then you would think.
-----------------------------------------------
Now i will cheat!
Soon to be in the "4":
Chop modded luxIII E1e/VG FB-1:
I just ordered a E1e bezel for this. tiny bright, and
just so perfect. If chop carries it, it must be cool!

Ok let's hear it.. VDG

My most carried light is a FF-II with modified reflector, SF-123 cell and driven by a MadMax Lite TXOJ sammie. Whenever I'm dressed, which is ~18 hours per day, that FF-II is on my physical person.

LH and Photon Freedom. Together, they provide a range of brightnesses for almost any situation.

Arc AAA -keychain
Infinity Ultra -pocket
Arc LS -pocket

I switch back'n forth b/w the Infinity and the LS. I tried a Photon once on my keychain but it kept turning on by itself /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif (this was a long time ago, I know they've fixed the problem)

<ul type="square">[*]LionHeart CPF SE - the best overall light I know of (32 levels handle most lighting needs) (24/7 EDC)
[*]Photon Microlight III Covert - handy when ultra low levels are needed (24/7 EDC)
[*]SureFire U2 - the second best overall light that I own due to it's 6 levels (carried in bag everyday)
[*]bwaites's USL - when you absolutely, positively must have the most light possible in a Mag 2D-sized light! (carried in bag everyday and used everyday for field testing)[/list]

On my keychain I have an arc AAA and two photons. I also carry an Inova T1 in a sheath on my belt.

Re: Your four favorite EDC small light\'s.

Bearing in mind I am a mere urbanite so most of the time there is plenty of light around and I have gotten used to darken environments like dark music venues.

So my EDCs are small/almost not there, and good for close quarter tasks and do not draw attention to myself - BUT would still work outdoors in unlit countryside at a pinch....

Yellow Photon 2 on keyring - 120 hours advertized battery time (I believe this, as I had EDC a Yellow Photon 1 for well over 7 years and its battery is still fine....) I see well under yellow for both contrast and definition - it is also kind to my eyes and doesn't affect whatever dark adaption I have already acquired, it also doesn't attract much attention. I have actually managed to walk in the unlit countryside with this.

Dorcy 1AAA - small bright for its size - a bit too bright for personal reading - but great to help others. Actually it is enough and seems to suit me for outdoors unlit countryside walking.
Please see lots of discussion at Dorcy 1AAA Outdoors

Re: Your four favorite EDC small light\'s.

The three lights that I do actually EDC:
Inova Microlight on my keychain
Single-AA MicroMag with Terralux TLE-10 module and 3V lithium AA battery in my pocket
SF G2 with 3W drop-in in my pack

If I include my next favorite for light #4, I would pick my Infinity Ultra with hi-output LED and polished bezel.

I'm a believer in that your favorite light is the one that you can get your hands on when you need it. I always have my handy Arc AAA Turquoise on my keychain so it wins easily. If I don't think I will need a light but grab one just in case I will normally take my LSH-P with a twisty because it fits in my pocket and I don't even know its there.

On belt:
Streamlight JR Luxeon in holster
*Inova X1 in its included holster

In pocket/pocket lip
*Gerber Infinity Ultra clipped to pocket lip
*Dorcy 1AAA LED in pocket

* - these lights are not on me every day, but are rotated around.

I always carry the JR Luxeon, but I combine with any combination of the others marked with a "*"

Re: Your four favorite EDC small light\'s.

I EDC my HDS because it can do everything well and it is still pocketable -- though it is at MY size limit for what I will EDC.

If I lost my HDS (May God Forbid!) and I could only EDC one light, it would be the Jil DD for best compromise on size, runtime, and brightness.

Runtime is very important to me since I figure disaster is always just around the corner. If I couldn't EDC the Jill DD, I'd EDC the CMG Ultra -- again, if I had to choose only one.
