actually, i think they already determined theres water on mars.
they watched frost and condensation form on the rover.
they say theres water seeping from the surface continuously.

Anyway, I am a fan of art bell or wha tis not coast to coast am and listened to story after story of Richard C Hoagland about water on mars and what he and the online community saw in the photos and all the theories on how the photos were altered, etc, etc.
I think it has been concluded that water does exist there at the poles in ice and underground. I think the reason we will never see a lake or pond is the fact the atmosphere is too thin and it evaporates when it reaches the surface or liquid state.
