I have some Batterystation R123(4.2V) that I would like to use with a Dspeck CR123 spacer in an L2 or A2. Will the rechargeable Batterysation R123's physically fit in the A2/L2's battery tube? How about other Li-Ions like the 17670?

The 700mah R123 from my site and a member here (AW) both fit (of cos....the same thing..)

I now have an A2. The Batterystaton rechargeable R123's will NOT fit in the A2's battery tube. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

I'm not sure it would be a good idea anyway, given the LEDs and the higher power output....

I plan to use only 1 4.2V R123 and a CR123 spacer. So, the total V going into the L2's LED will be 4.2V. Not sure about the runtime.

seattlite, some one correct me, but I think you need higher voltage to the voltage regulator, than 4.2 volts. It is, in effect, a buck regulator, that requires closer to 6 volts from the batteries. Two R123's would work, though resistor to led would need a different value. Removing the led ring would solve that problem also, but you would lose an excellent feature from the light. If I had an A2, I would remove the leds, and run with quilt free R123's, preferably unprotected R123's.

I missed the part of your post that specified BatteryStation R123s. Sorry for the confusion, mine are the 4.2 volt R123s from J.S. Burly's. They will fit in both the L2 & A2. I don't use them in these lights, but they will fit.
