Good 2D hosts other than M*g?

I have a mod-a-mag 8aa-to-2D adapter and a nice collection of powerful hotwire bulbs (WA 01185, Pelican Big D 24 watt, etc). Aside from the obvious 2D M*g, what hosts can I use? Ideally, something with a metal reflector and a slightly larger inside diameter than a M*g so that there's more flexibility in choices of AA cells to fit inside. Would using a plastic-body light be asking for quick meltdown?

You might try for an older glass and metal 1950s-1970's 2D host just for fun if you can find a good one at a second hand store.

I have a 1975 Eveready 2D with a metal body and room for any kind of AA's 4 across, but the lense and reflector are still plastic. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif
If I ever find another classic style flashlight like this with all metal and glass, it would be a hoot to show it off with an 1185 firing truckloads of photons out of it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif
