L1 head on 2x123s

I remembered I saw this befor, but I dont remmeber if it was ok or not. No luck with a search, can someone point me to it? I have a gen3 l1 head (not the newest one)

No... you might get a few seconds of bright light but the few seconds is all you get before things start smoking. It is not safe to do because the L1 is a dumb head and has no circuitry in it. The "smart" KL1 head, on the other hand, has a circuit in it and hence can be safely run from different voltages (within the provided specs).
