xenon bulb question with mag

Well I just discovered I made a stupid mistake. I went and bought a few xenon bulbs to replace the standard krypton bulb that's in my 4D cell mag. Well I put one of the new bulbs in and it immediately burns out. Then I find out that the bulb was for a 2D cell flashlight so I have no use for the remaining good bulb now unless I try to use it in an old 2C mag I have which has a krypton bulb in it atm. Will it make the flashlight brighter?

most of the time the difference in a C vs D cell bulb is the amperage which relates to the brightness. Sometimes the voltage differs slightly but it is not as common. Putting a 2D bulb in a 2C light will make it brighter but reduce runtime more than a 2c bulb.
