NEW BRIGHTER WHITE LED
The single-AA sized "Proton" light that LRI has been working on is about as small as you would reasonably be able to go with the Luxeon-type bulbs. The light was actually designed with this in mind, but it turns out that packing 6 of these new LEDs in, instead of a single high-flux bulb like the Luxeon, gives a much brighter light and uses less power at the same time.
