Sharper Image has marketed several of these in the past. Noteably the "N" cell models, the Rescue Stick, and the 3AAA "coliminator Lens" model.(which has been badly thrashed in a couple of threads)

Those are products of ISP Korea and are sold round the world under a few brand names including Aitec, known for the Luxeon "Collimator Lite" sold via Lifestyle Fascination in the States.
The Collimator series are pretty good if you can find them cheaply, and the 3-N lights pictured at the top of the page here are not bad either - I`ve one of the 6 white-LED ones and it`s OK. Nothing amazing but not dreadful either.
They have some interesting products. Avaliability is the biggest drawback - not many retailers who`ll sell them in one-off quantities yet.
Reviews of a small handful of them will show up on the Torch Reviews Site sometime this year, though I just took over the company`s web site (there goes even more of my free time) so I really can`t say exactly when.
