I have Ever LEDs, but with side emitters. Beam quality is bad my opinion says with these bulbs, which is why I have the LDF lens on my Maglites with Ever LEDs. Now, I read their is a Lambertian (high) dome EverLED, and I remember that in general High Domes have better beam quality than side emitters. I was wondering how good the beam quality is in a Maglite with the High Dome Lambertian? Would it be good enough to avoid using the LDF lens??

Kinda depends on your taste. To my eye, the HD is a little cleaner, but you seem to lose part of the ability to focus like you can with the SE.

Mag reflector isn't the best for LEDs all the way around, though. There's better options out there. .

I've already gotten these Lambertian Ever leds.

Beam quality is definitely better than the side emitters.

As far as focusing (a feature I HATE), I don't see a drop-off in focusing. They focus fine.

It doesn't seem (to my eye) that I can get quite as tight a spot with the HD, the SE seems to work better for me as far as a spot goes. .
