I have a Q111 and I am basically pleased with the light. But the winter has taken its toll on the battery which is dead now. I read some while back that there are batteries (stock cr123a) that will increase the brightness ( I think the term was overdriven) what kind of battery will accomphis this whithiout destroying the internal components? If this kind of battery exists, does it come in a rechargeable form?

Sorry about the noob q's but I am new to this...

Umm the only battery the QIII can even use IS the 123a. you will have to restock on them if you dont have anymore. Get them here for little over 1.00$ apiece.

Also, you can go rechargable by using Li-ion R123s. Specifically the 4.2v kind. These are also available at batterystation.

I think the word you were finding was "underdriven". The QIII is indeed underdriven and in order to recieve better performance we drive it harder with the 4.2 volt rechargables.

By the way, welcome to CPF, and hold on to your wallet, as it will be getting a lot thinner here.
