P60 LED module, direct drop-in for PentagonLight. Simply move ground spring from original bulb to P60 LED module.

transforms PentagonLight into a real useful light!

my sample of one PentagonLight has top quality hard anodizing. apearance and scratch resistances indicates mil spec quality.

My sebbie will not scratch inside HA surface which was test spot chosen.

construction of PentagonLight is top notch with gold contacts and mineral lens. lack of lube on threads for this new light made action pretty ruff. nyogel smoothed it right out.

double rings on both ends indicates high water resistance, but I have not tested out.

LED module hugely improves this underated light.

Woo hooo!

Just bored out Pentagonlight's body to accept 18650 for extra long guilt free lumens.

lathe job was a real pita, cause you could only bore from one end.

jeff, those other bodies would be going backwards. when you are running 18650 with LED.

drop-in luxeon's output is way better than std bulb.

next step-up would be adding a 5watt luxeon for 100+ lumens.

yeah that is what I was also going to add .. beat me to it..was just stating some other options as well.. the bigger 9v head has a bigger reflector as well and would give others the option to run the r123's .. the 5w star would be the bomb though... and good run times..

IMHO optimal form factor for a medium sized LED light uses single 18650 or 168A.

aka: Surefire U2, Gladius, Pelican M6 bored out, L5 bored out, Lionheart w/168s tube and now PentagonLight bored out.

2400 mah 18650 aprox. $8ea. carry a spare and you have several hours of bright runtime.

cy, will led module in Pentagon, with 18650, maintain good lightout over time? Stay in regulation?

output looks same for 18650 as 2x CR123. apears to be in regulation w/18650 which is not surprising.

should be measuring with meterman, but too lazy to put out /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

edit: P60 use a buck converter, meaning it's in DD with 18650. still pretty bright.
