T3 vs. L5

I have a T3 and like its throw, but how does it compare with an L5 in that regard? I'm sorta leaning toward buying an L5.

According to Quickbeam's Throw Chart, the T3 (~46) outthrows the L5 (~37). However, the L5, since using a Luxeon V, has twice the overall output, and much more sidespill.

My T3 has significantly better throw than my friend's L5. You should really consider the L6 if throw is what you want.

You should also take a look at the Aleph 3 in the McGizmo forum. It has less total output than the L5 and L6 but throws better.

I would rather give up my T3 but I'm keeping the L5. The L5's combination of throw, flood and sheer volume is just right.
