SF Error light 2 stage switch ?

Has anyone tried a two stage tail cap on the 5 watt Surefire Error light using 2 R123,s ? I'm looking for a switch that would be aprox. the output of an L4 on low and full overdrive on high. Larry.

Come on guys! Larry asked me this Q and I have no experience with 2xR123 and the "dumb" 5W. I reckon some of you have the components to come up with an answer here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I run mine with a McE2s 22ohm and 2xR123 (8.4V). Low is about 1.5W~2W output.

Perfect for me. I haven't done any runtime tests with it on low but I will if you want me to.

So if you wanted low to be brighter, would you go with a lower value resistor ? Larry.
