Re: FS: Electrolumens Tesla-6 (price drop)

you're getting a pretty good deal on this light. its pretty much new cause i havent used it much. this light is $175 if you're buying from Electrolumens. you're saving yourself $35, PLUS you get free shipping.
i'm sorta open for trades so if you have something to offer pls msg me. i'm looking for a LH-black with black 168a body (do they make black for that??) or SF A2white LED and some custom lights like the Raw, etc. something with power /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif

i have an Inova T1, Peak 5 and 7LED high power that i can include in the trade to make up the difference if needed or $$.
oh, post changed alittle.

Can this light be run off NiMH AAs, like in a 9AA holder in a 3D Mag or an 8AA holder in a 2D Mag?

Re: FS: Electrolumens Tesla-6 (price drop)

Josey,

this was sent to me by Wayne (Electrolumens) himself. this will explain alittle bit about it.

There are two different voltage configurations. The original design is in a 3D
Maglite body. You have to use 9AA batteries for this settup, in a special
battery holder people are buying from someone else. Can't remember where they
are getting it at the moment, but it is in the posts on this light. I make the
light minus the battery holder. In this settup, it has two banks of three LEDs
in series. That is, three LEDs are in series. Hence, the much higher voltage.
This light pulls 2 amps.

Another settup is to arrange the LEDs in three banks of series-of-two. I put
this into a 6C or 6D Maglite, and it pulls 3 amps. Equivalent brightness to the
first settup.

For a 2D Mag, It is a bit of a strain for 6AA batteries to power 6 3W LEDs. The
most I would recomend is 4 LEDs. This would require two V2-3-To-D battery
holders, of which I have a few I can use to do this mod, which is called the
'QuadStar'.

so i guess you can run it off NiMH AAs. i'm assuming that it'll run better then using alkline.

Thanks, PhantomZ. So I guess, from what Wayne sent you, your LEDs are wired in three parallel banks, with each bank being 2 LEDs in series. But for a 9AA holder in a 3-D Mag, which is the form that I like, the light has the wrong configuation.
