Amongst my fiddling with various LED projects is a bicycle light. Not wanting to waste a lot of power in a resistor I concocted up a switching converter that converts the six volts of my battery pack to the 0.7 amps I want to feed my Luxeon III. So far I've had fair results, but nothing spectacular:
Now I'm wondering, is the circuit as described on my page too complex and can it be made simpler considering the design constraints or is this as simple as it can get? And how do I mount the module on my bike so it stays dry and in one piece? I'm an electronicks engineer and not a mechanical guy and just not too good with this stuff!
