Hi!
My name is Bernhard, living in Germany. Due to my search for the MANUFACTURER of a very bright 50 Watt HID searchlight called DYNALUXX I logged in into CPF for the first time that morning.

Technical data sheets and announce texts concerning the Dynaluxx type BK52 and BK52S says this would be really the brightest and strongest HID hand held searchlight of the world! It has 6000 lumens light output!!!

Is there anybody able to tell me who is the PRODUCER of that DYNALUXX lamp???
There are some distributors in the internet, two in Germany and one in the Netherlands, but with very large differents in the price (from 1.800 Euro up to 3.500 Euro)!

Help! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

Best greetings from Germany,
Bernhard

Hi Bernhard,
Thanks for your PM. It seems you have more information on the Dynaluxx than I have. I had believed that it was manufactured by AE light / Kenrad, but I too have not been able to find any more information on the internet. I wanted the Dynaluxx but have since found other 50watt HID lights here on CPF. Some are very expensive, but others are quite cheap. you might want to check out the Thor HID mod, the new Rayzorbeam, or some of the maglite HID mods.
I'm not sure what you want this for, and I'm sure the Dynaluxx will be a great light, but you might want to have a look aroud here before you buy.

Hope this is helpful,

Dave.

Well, Dave, thanks for your comment!
With a lot of energy I was researching and a very friendly woman from Switzerland send me an eMail with a hint vital to the success: The Dynaluxx becomes produced in Switzerland on order of the German developer group located in North Germany.
Therefore as a matter of fact it is not produced by AE Light / Kenrad in Oregon (having eMail contact with Marc Allsman)!
Yesterday, Thursday, I had a telephone call of nearly one hour (!) with one of the German managers. I suggested the assignment of one Dynaluxx to bring it into our national government FVT light laboratory in Germany.
That governmental institute is inaccessible for commercial companies and certainly, more than ever, it is inaccessible for private individuals.
But I have a permanent admittance because of the fact that my brother is working there.
It is one of the most modern light institutes all over Europe and they have the finest electronic high-precision analysis equipments.
The specialists there can conduct all kinds of examinations, such as (for example):
# Measurement of the luminous intensity
# Measurement of the luminous flux and the luminous field
# Measurement of the light density (luminance)
# Measurement of the HID start-up and the decay time
# Well-defined classification of the spectral colours
# Definition of the limits of the beam borderline (line of darkness/brightness)
# Definition of the scattered light factor
# Definition of the stability of the electric arc (arc creeping/commotion)
# Definition of the thermal behaviour
# precise photogram-metric survey of light emission and electronic properties
# Quality tests and material analysis
# and all other kind of electric and photo-optical measuring.

The accuracy of the justified measurements of that laboratory is very high precision and it is geared to investigate thoroughly all the light facts from LEDs up to 6000 Watt short arc lamps!

Now I am very curious about the further progress! If I have one of those lamps immediately I will look for an appointment at that laboratory: The measure results coming from there will be definitive accurate and uncompromising correct!

Now, of course, I wait eagerly to see if it is true when they say "the strongest and brightest HID searchlight all over the world at present"...!

It is a great pity that I do not have a MAXABEAM or a MEGARAY for benchmark resp. comparison tests!

I will set all interesting facts in the CPF when done the tests!

My best greetings from the Rhineland in Germany – where the good wine is coming from ;-)

Bernhard

Thanks for the information Bernhard. I find it hard to believe the Dynaluxx could be the brightest HID light, as it is only 50 watts and I know there are HID lamps over 75 watts out there. It might be the brightest and most rugged for its size though. I suppose it depends though on whether you are looking for a lantern-style, 'flashlight', separate battery/reflector or how portable you want.
You could also look at some of the reviews of the Megaray and Maxabeam in this forum.

Good luck with your research,

Dave.

Hey Dave

For a moment there, I thought you had your own brand of torches. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sheer coincidence Brian! It's interesting, the Kenrad lights are talked about a bit here, but don't seem to be all that popular (although the new Powerlight is getting a lot of interest).

Hi Bernhard!
Another Bernhard from Germany here ... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Care to share some info about this special light? Pics?

And if I were you, I'd be careful to mention your access to a light-lab as this is one of the things we miss the most here ...

Hi Kiessling!

Kannste mir n paar Tipps geben?
Grüße aus Pommern an der Mosel,
Bernhard

Hi !
First ... CPF is an English-based forum and we are bound to that overly simplistic language /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin07.gif ... so please continue in English.

Pics ... you'll need an external host for you pics (I recommend www.photobucket.com) and can then link them here via UBB code.
You either do this wit the link in the reply-to-post-function when not using the quick-reply at the bottom of the thread or via UBB code directly in the quck-reply-box like this:

Bernhard Welcome!

Yes we like very bright spotlights here! Several members have built their own using different host and parts but it looks like the manufactures are catching up with us "The Cutting Edge and we can't have that /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hang around I think you will see much brighter lights in the near future /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin07.gif

Welcome Bernhard,

It would be nice to see pics of this 50W light, but even a link to the sites you mention are offering them would do in the meantime while you find a place to post the pics.

There's a couple of 50W hand-held lights that seem to be becoming available globally and I'm very interested indeed.
