Every year our small residential area (about 200 houses total) holds its annual Aspen Springs street sale. Well, I managed to get up at 9 am (terribly early for me, as I'm in the searchlight biz, often leaving jobs at 2 and 3 am), and did about 2 hours of browsing.
Got some great stuff, but there were so many yard sales (maybe 50+), that I had had my fill. But there was ONE more house that for some reason I was drawn to, for no particular reason. In about 12 seconds, I found that reason.
It was in a bin marked "take any 5 items for $1". Well, needless to say I grabbed it. Nothing else of interest in there so the neighbour said "how's 25 cents?". I said "I'll happily pay double". She was pleased, and so was I. And as long as I come home with something for my wife and daughter (a beautiful sweater and a cute Hello Kitty bag), they can't dis me for getting "another dumb light"!
That's gold, Jerry! GOLD!
