One year on CPF

My first post was June 7/04.

In the past year I've bought an EverLED, an ARC AAA-P
(my EDC light), a Radio Shack 3AAA 1W luxeon light,
did 2 mag mods (Lux III 3D DD light with 3 levels, and a 2D
Lux III nFlex), and ordered a nano-3 from andrewwynn.

How's that for self control? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The nano-3 seems like the perfect EDC light for me, so
that has helped me reisist many other lights while I
wait for it.

It's been a fun year - Greg

Greg,

Congratulations! Great self-discipline. It sounds like you're more than satisfied with your flashahol progress. What more could one ask? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sometimes I wish I had gone more slowly. That way, there's always a better light ahead -- brighter, bigger, smaller . . . whatever happens to be my current thing.

I've lusted over many of the 123 and CR2 lights (FF2, Groovy
etc) but the increased diameter vs my AAA-P have kept
me from pulling the paypal trigger.

Also, a light much brighter than my AAA is a disadvantage
for my uses, unless it has at least 2 levels. That's
why I'm so excited by Andrew's nano-3. Same size as
my current EDC, nicer beam, brighter but dimmable.

Hmmm... I think you need to work harder on breaking that bad habit /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif "I turned 1" a couple of months ago.

Happy one year posting aniversary, and cheers to a fellow Canadian CPFer! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/party.gif

Side Note: How do you find that Radio Shack Luxeon? They seem a bit expensive, but if they're any good, I may pick one up.

Again, congratulations.

I "turn five" in mid-summer. 08-12-05 to be specific.
At least 600 flashlights, lasers, and other lighting devices to date, and still counting. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
And no, that does not count bare LEDs. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks Brad.

The RS light I have is the $49 one that is sometimes
(and currently) on sale for $29. The workmanship on
it is excellent, the tint very good and the beam very
good after I added some of the Scotch satin tape.

The biggest downside is that it uses 3 AAAs. I'd rather
have CR123 lights now. Their Q3 clone looks nice but
at $69 CDN I'll say no thanks.

Craig you have an amazing number of lights (and posts
too). I don't think I'll try to compete on either /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Raggie: CPF sure is a friendly site.

Happy CPFday to you Greg. You have more self control than I do. The Arc AAA was the first light that the CPF inspired me to buy - after only one week. I've EDC'd that light since.

It'll be interesting to know what you pick up in the next year. Good luck to you and CYa later. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif

Congratulations Greg. CPF is a very "bright" place, eh?

It's been one and a half years for me, and so far I like the joint. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
