How was it done?

Way, way, underdriven?

A filter?

Making the phosphors glow with an external blue or UV light source?

I have used a blank CD-R as a quickie filter so I can view the dies of lit LED's at times...

Hey all. Thanks for the comments.

My secret....I shined the light into my trinitron monitor and saw that it allowed me to view the led while on. Sometimes the most simple solution is the best.

Try it out for yourselves and post here. I'll enjoy seeing what you guys come up with.

I just tried it. The anti glare coating on the 19" IBM thinkvision CRT i use is to transmissive. The reflection is still a bit too bright for direct viewing.

The reflection was a pretty indigo color though...

Well, I don't know if it makes a difference but I have a Sony Trinitron 21" flat tube. Try different angles maybe.

Use a lense filter or a pair of sunglasses over the bezel to cut down the light.

Good luck.

Wait a minute, I think that I had my AA extender on the Q3 when I took the pics. So, it was running on 1.5v instead of 3v. That must be the reason. Ok.

Use a dimm battery if you want to try it for yourselves.
