I stumbled across a product introduction in an electronics design magazine about American Bright's new light engine with 30 degree emitter mounted. Their web page on the product mentions a 7W model, but gives no further information. Specs are minimal and there's no link to a product sheet that I could find.

Still, it might be something an enterprising CPF designer/modder might want to look into.

You can visit the American Bright LED page and select 3W, 5W, or 7W from the High Power LEDs column on the right side of the grid. There is a spec sheet for the 7W LED here But it uses multiple die, and has the same problem as many of the other higher output LEDs like Lamina, they are driven at 2.3A. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

30 degree would be very hard to collimate into a nice beam. It would diverge quite rappidly alone, and be too narrow for reflectors to collect the light..
