Is this risk worth taking?

In a local store in my town, they sell an old generation KL1 for $45. I am not sure if it is a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation. I want for it to be 3rd. Should I just buy it and hope for the best?

I'd think you could resell it here if it wasn't what you wanted, 45 bucks doesn't sound too bad. .

I just need some pics of the second generation so I can tell differences. Maybe they'll let me put it on my bro's E1E and check the beam.

cheapo,

You might want to check out KevinL's (Mr. KL1 himself. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif) site for qualified info on KL1 generations. If it turns out to be 3rd gen., you got yourself a nice versatile long running good tinted light.

(Sorry Kevin - I know it's more like Mr. U2 nowadays /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleye11.gif)

Well, I bought it and... yep, it was a 3rd generation. Turns out it isnt as bright as my micra, but it has sidespill. So thats good. I'll keep her for flood. and I'll buy an E1L for throw, two very small lights.
