Flashlight Enthusiast
I was at Fry's yesterday. They have just added some LED's to the flashlight area, not the electronic parts area. Coast has packaged some LED's in the usual colors, blue, green, red, white. I looked at the blue and white and noticed they spec it at 100 ma and 5 volts.
I popped it in my Twin Task 2 lithium light, in the centerspot. It did not fry at 6 volts but emitted a nice slightly turquoise tinted light. Ran it for 30 seconds no burnout. I then placed it in a 3 cell Legend AA I have had waiting inspiration. The happy white light returned. I popped in a reamed out mag reflector (got dozens sitting around for some reason /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif ) and it has a decent flood with the slightest hot spot in the center. The Coast LED does make for a decent light for a reflector. Now must get blue and green to test.
