Ourdoor shots? What do you use to charge those lithiums, and can it charge the AA and r123a sizes too?

Looks like about the same size spot maybe a bit bigger than my 3xAAA NiMH R/O light. Only a lot brighter. Comparision between this and a mag reflectored R/O (lux1 or 3)...?

My camera is going with me to work tomorrow with a few Red/Orange lights. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'll see what I can do. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The DSD global charger and the batteries came from AW in the BST Non Lights forum. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
The charger can charge most li-ion r123s up to 18650's with, or without spacers.

Stephen, if you mount it to your truck's hood people might pull over to the side. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Cool mod! I'm assuming that you must have some resistance in there...?

No resistance added. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/str.gif
It is direct drive with all 4 leds in series at 1.3 amps off of 3 18650 protected cells from AW. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Interesting. How did you deal with the ground problem of the R/O lux?

I used stars this time to be safe.
They were placed on a B2eze heatsink for 3 stars, but without the screws so that 4 would sit right in there. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Even if you used Stars, that doesn't mean you're safe. The stars on the LuxIII are not isolated. Depeneding on how much thermal glue they used the star can be positive biased easily itself...

1.3amps each? That's 15.6watts, not 12! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Seems as though the quad throws a larger beam, but just as intense/far as the single led in mag reflector!!
