Just wanted to share my latest mod.

I like the 2C mag size alot, and wanted a nice Li-Ion multi level light.
So after messing around alittle, I decided I wanted to use 2 Pila 168s cells, or soem of AWs cells.
With a TWOJ and Nflex.

In alot of ways, it would have been easier/better to just cut a 3C mage down to size, but eh,
sometimes you just have to do it the .... fun way. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I tooke a stock cap, cut the end off, turned the diameter down alittle,
and made a large tail that would press fit onto the modded stock tailcap.
With the help of alittle epoxy to ensure water resistance.

The stock spring was cut down much smaller and press fit in the tailcap.

I made the new tail alittle larger diameter than the mag body, so it would have more grip.
I may drill a lanyard hole in it later, but for now I just have one tired around the body, and it stays on nice,
since it cant slip over the tail.

The light is going caving tomorow, which was the main use I had in mind for it.
So I will know soon how she does her job. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's a great idea JT. You can get a batch done and anodised! I am sure some pp would like one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Very sweet! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif Love the idea of having a different looking tailcap for the Mag c. It might be very interesting to put this on Ironman's groovy Mags... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, I survived yet another day of caving /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

And the Light performed perfectly.
Shes a bit beatup now naturally, but still working.
Just thought you might like to see some pics of what I light looks like after one day of caving.

Weakest part of these mag mods, is the stock lens.
I need to replace all my caving mags with mineral glass I think.
Just lightly whipping off the sandy mud scratches them really badly.

hey, ummmm..... could an extender section be made that adds a little length to the body so the stock tailcap serews in and still allow for the Pilas or 18650s?

Great idea UF! Maybe ModaMag has some of the leftover tubes from all the cutdowns he's done. That would be a good solution for an extender. Just rethread one end of the leftover cutdowns once the right legth was established /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

[edit: but Modamag did mostly D size mag cutdowns.]

Sorry guys, these are [Edit] NOT [/Edit] for sale. I barely have time to do things like this for myself.

Good idea about the extender guys.
I think that would actually work well.

Maybe it would be worth while to contact some ppl know to do the cutdowns,
just to see if they did keep the "scrap"

ACTUALLY, the stock tailcaps will accomodate bare 18650's and 17670's
just fine... I put two LG 18650's in the 2c with a stock tail and with
room to spare for a shortened spring. (which by the way I am selling
these LG 18650 2400mah cells ... hint hint)

I believe jtice designed this tailcap to take two PROTECTED cells
which are a bit longer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

47s is 100% correct.

These were 2 PROTECTED cells,
The 18650s fit, but I never determined if they could fit with a spring etc.
Plus, in the setup I have, Protection is a good idea.

just a thought. when and if you start selling these, perhaps make the ends six sided so our mags wont roll away all the time.
