Hi together,
I am planning to use 2 (older but at hand) 5 watt Luxes for a dynamo-driven bike-light.
One is a high dome, intended for slow speed flood illumination, and working perfectly with an NX05 optics.

2nd is a side emitting LED (a real s-e, not a low-dome), but the beam I receive from it is s****y to non existent.
I have tried NX05, fraen and several optics from lumidrive (5, 15, 5-20 degrees), but there is almost no output, no matter what items tried.

What is the way to get a beam from a side-emitter?

No optic is going to do you any good.

Yep, optics only focus the liught going up, in a side emmitter there really isnt any lol. Side-emmitters work real well in a 2" Mag style reflector.
