Terrorist\'s blasts shutdown London train system w/injuries

They initially said it was caused by a major power surge resulting in a power outage for the entire city.

Edit - British Prime Minister Tony Blair says Thursday's explosions in London were a "series of terrorist attacks."

Power surge my b**t!!

That would not account for the bus... Maybe they tried to pass it off as something harmless in the media.
It's not. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

See CNN as well. On the CNN video feed there's a breaking news ticker - "Government source talks of 20 dead".

Blair said it was "also reasonably clear" that the attacks were timed to coincide with the opening of the summit.

I should say something, but I don't know what to say. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I had always thought that this was inevitable, but it's still a huge shock.

I love London and one of the stations blasted is less than 100 yards from where I used to live.

My thoughts go out to all affected, please stay safe.

Re: Blasts shutdown London train system w/injuries

Living in Edinburgh we have had demonstrations leading up to the G8 meeting at Gleneagles about 40 miles away.

On Saturday a march of 220,000 people walked round the centre of the city with the message Make Poverty History, there was one arrest for disorder.

Since then there has been some minor scuffles in town caused by rent a mob crews from across Europe trying to hijack the feeling and numbers of people in town to their own ends, they failed.

Last night 60,000 people attended a concert at Edinburgh`s largest stadium again with the message Make Poverty History. There was no trouble at all.

London is a victim today of horrific incidents, there is no panic, London has not been crippled, people are staying calm and uniting to help those affected.Again the terrorists have failed.

There`s many more good people in the world than bad.

My hopes and heart goes out to those directly affected.

If you love someone you go and tell them now.

We have quite a few members from the UK here on CPF. I hope all of them are ok. Perhaps some of them will post soon.

I have been trying to call some people I know in the UK but have been unable to reach anyone, I think they all might still be at work.
