mmm, display as in been seen far? or as in throw?

I think LED's CAN be displayed pretty far, arent all the jumbotrons and things like that made out of LED's now adays?

But y leds cant throw as well...im not sure of that!

put a magnifying glass in front of them than they can throw.

or use Maglite Reflector in combination with a Lambertain LED. Don´t forget the Reflectors like Streamlight Lux1 4AA and Heliotek have ;-)

than they can throw ;-)

on ledmuseum you can find a Review on Stephens Direct Driven Lux3 @ ca. 700mA

compare it with Surfire Aviator or with a M2 with P61 hotwire http://ledlights.home.att.net/a2.htm

mcd measurement is pretty impressive... isn´t it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I swear the nextel vision screen they use at nascar races are LEDs. THey are bright and can be seen during the day too.

As for throw, most leds need a deep reflector and most do not have them. Sure a magnifier lens will help, but it is stil la flood than spot light.
