Open the email in Gmail.

Goto 'More Options' Its on the same line as the sending email, right next to the date.

After you click on that it will then expand to show these fields.

From
To
Date
Subject

Then Body

Under the subject line will be some more options.

One of those options is 'show original'. Click that and it will open a new window with a text copy of the entire email with headers.

You will see a series of lines that start with "Recieved from" They are in reverse order. In a legitimate e-mail, the lowest one has the IP or host name of the originator. In a spoofed mail, only the one just bellow gmail's mail server is sure to be valid. All teh rest are easily spoofed.

Technically, Hotmail is the sender of the email onto the Internet.

You want the address of the user's computer who wrote the email. Only a Hotmail Admin would be able to relate the login ID/Session with a particular IP address.
