I started this project about 1 month ago working on it sparingly, but I dedictaed all of today to completing it.
What is it? A desk lamp, but no incan bulbs here /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad71.gif
It uses 2 TWOJ LED's mounted on a heatsink from modamag. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif This used to be a sad little incan lamp. I got it at the thrift store for $3! And now it lives again...
(To be fair to dial-up users I only posted a few pics and placed links to the rest. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif }
On to the pictures...
Here is a shot of what's inside:
Rectifier, Capacitor, Transformer, Resistors-->(I for got to take a pic of them installed), & a Fuse in case anything decides to blow up.
They are all installed on the metal base of the Lamp.
I mounted the transformer with a couple of screws, washers, and nuts.
Transformer Pic
Once I finished all the wiring inside I closed it up. The top screw is for the fuse holder, the bottom 2 are for the transformer...
Lamp Base
But before I closed it I ran one positive and one negative wire from the base thorugh the lamp's neck.
I then went on to mount the heatsink in the Lamp's head.
So I first bent some pieces of Aluminum.
Screwed them onto the heatsink.
Then I screwed them onto the Lamp's fixture.
Once that was done I screwed on the head and wired the LED's
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif It's alive! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
Now onto a few beam shots.
Here it is lighting up my very messy desk:
And finally a couple of wall Beamshots:
Wall
Wall 2
Here is a pic of the lamp's base, it's just a simple on-off switch.
No more nasty brown incan light for me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif
Thanks for looking! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
