There is no such thing as a negative calorie. A calorie is a unit of heat energy. The logic behind ice water is that your body needs to use energy to raise the temperature of the water which would use calories.

Thanks for clarifying that, RH. I knew that it had to do with the body's metabolic reaction to the cold liquid, but you said it much more clearly than I did.

tap water has zero calorie. It has fluoride for cavity prevention.
