Lucky Duck APC?

I've noticed a few sellers on eBay are offering Leadlight 110s with "Lucky Duck APC" - allegedly a power regulation circuit that allows you to fire the laser continuously for as long as you like without damaging the diode or overheating.

Has anyone come across this before? And can these be modded?

I dunno...I tried to pot mod that model and it doesn't seem to make a differance in output. I think the 105's are easier to mod because of that....

probably a consumer scam. firing the laser continuously without any doubt will produce an amount of heat. regulating the circuit could perhaps decrease the amount of current into the diode and minimizing the amount of heat created and thereby maximizing the time of output.

Not good at all! It sounds like the regulating circuit overrides the pot, meaning no pot mods.

Someone's flogging these cheaply on eBay pushing the "Lucky Duck" as a selling point. Caveat emptor!
